Security Gateway (SGW) Module
REMOVAL
NOTE:
If this Electronic Control Unit (ECU) is being replaced with a new unit, use a diagnostic scan tool to perform the Flash Programming Procedure (if available).
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
- Remove the lower glove box assembly. Refer to GLOVE BOX, INSTRUMENT PANEL, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Remove the fasteners from the SGW module.
1 - Fasteners 2 - Wire Harness Connector Receptacles 3 - SGW Module 4 - Lower Glove Box Assembly - Remove the SGW from the lower glove box assembly.
INSTALLATION
Follow the removal procedure in reverse for general reassembly of the components on the vehicle. The steps listed below are calling out specific procedures that should be followed during installation.
NOTE:
If a NEW Security Gateway (SGW) module is being installed, use the diagnostic scan tool to flash the module. Failure to flash the module will leave the SGW module in a locked mode preventing SGW module operation.
- Tighten the fasteners securely.
- If a NEW SGW module is installed, use the diagnostic scan tool to flash the SGW module.
