Power Inverter Module (PIM)
REMOVAL
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
- Remove the steering column opening cover. Refer to COVER, STEERING COLUMN OPENING, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Remove the fasteners that secure the Power Inverter Module (PIM) bracket to the instrument panel carrier.
1 - PIM 2 - Fasteners - Disconnect the wire harness connector(s) and remove the PIM from the vehicle.
- If necessary, remove the fasteners that secure the PIM bracket to the PIM. Remove the PIM from the mounting bracket.
INSTALLATION
Follow the removal procedure in reverse for general reassembly of the components on the vehicle. The steps listed below are calling out specific procedures that should be followed during installation.
- If separated, install the mounting bracket to the PIM. Install the fasteners and tighten securely.
- Install the PIM into the instrument panel. Install the fasteners and tighten securely.
