Preliminary Diagnostic Checks

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2024 RAM ProMaster EV. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Check for any Service Bulletins, Star On-line Cases or ECU flash updates that apply for the DTC or symptom.
  2. Check for any Battery voltage DTCs in the ECU. Low Battery voltage can cause a DTC.
  3. Circuit faults should typically be diagnosed before rationality/performance faults.
  4. Check the component harness connector(s) for proper connection at the component. Verify that the connector is completely plugged in and properly locked prior to disconnecting for testing. Disconnect the component harness connector and check for water intrusion and any pushed out, damaged, corroded, burnt, or spread terminals.
