Inputs And Outputs - Electric Power Steering (EPS) Module
The BCM receives the Steering Angle Sensor (SAS) data from the Electric Power Steering (EPS) module in the steering gear and broadcasts the data on the Controller Area Network - Flex-Data (CAN-FD) data bus for calculations. The BCM gates all LIN data from the EPS.
The EPS is powered by a fuse in the Power Distribution Center (PDC).
CAN Inputs
- Transfer case status
- Accelerator pedal position (calculated)
- Static engine torque, and effective engine torque
- Steering wheel angle
- Commanded ignition switch status
- Vehicle speed
CAN Outputs
- EPS indication lamp faults are requested through the Malfunction Indication Lamp (MIL)
- Status of any EPS system steering event
The IPC receives the following signals:
CAN Inputs
- Key in ignition status
- Commanded ignition switch status
