Coolant Temperature Sensor

The sensor is a thermistor using a 5-volt reference from ECU. The sensor's internal resistance is low at low temperature and increases resistance with increased temperature. The ECU changes fuel mixture and timing advance based on coolant temperature sensor input. This sensor is located in the upper outlet hose housing. See Figure .
