Vehicle Speed Sensor: Service and Repair

This procedure consists of replacing the road speed sensor by cutting the harness connecting the computer and sensor. The new road speed sensor service kit includes one road speed sensor with a wire harness and male connector, one female connector, two male terminals and two seals.
1. Remove road speed sensor from transaxle.
2. Cut harness the same length as replacement harness.
3. On computer side, remove approximately 1.6 inches of outer insulation from cable end.
4. Remove approximately .20 inch of insulation from each wire.
5. Install a seal onto each wire.
6. Install and crimp two male terminals onto wire ends.
7. When installing wires into connector, ensure wire color codes are not interchanged.
8. Install connector locking tab.
