Control Relay (2.0L & 2.0L Turbo)
- Control relay is located on right side of center console. Disconnect control relay connector.
- Using a 12-volt power source, connect positive lead to control relay terminal No. 10 and negative lead to terminal No. 8. See Fig 1. Using a voltmeter, check for voltage at terminals No. 4 and No. 5. Battery voltage should exist. Disconnect negative lead from terminal No. 8. Voltage should no longer exist at terminals No. 4 and No. 5.
- Connect negative lead to terminal No. 6. Ensure continuity is NOT present at terminals No. 2 and 3. Connect positive lead to terminal No. 9 and negative lead to terminal No. 6. Continuity should exist between terminals No. 2 and No. 3.
- Connect positive lead to terminal No. 3. If voltage exists at terminal No. 2, repair short to ground. Connect positive lead to terminal No. 3 and negative lead to terminal No. 7. If battery voltage does not exist at terminal No. 2, replace control relay.
