Mechanical Instrument Cluster
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1992 Dodge Dynasty, 1992 Chrysler New Yorker Fifth Avenue, 1992 Chrysler New Yorker, and 1992 Chrysler Imperial. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
Mechanical instrument cluster operates independently of the body controller with the exception of the seat belt warning light, low fuel warning light and the check gauges light. The body controller turns on the seat belt warning light for about 6 seconds when ignition switch is turned to ON position.
When fuel level drops to approximately 3.2 gallons, body controller turns on the low fuel warning light. The check gauges warning light is turned on by body controller when SBEC issues a high temperature warning or a charging system failure by means of CCD bus system.
