Throttle Position Sensor

  1. Disconnect connector from throttle position sensor, located on side of throttle body. Using ohmmeter, check resistance between terminals No. 1 and 4 on connector for throttle position sensor. See Fig 1 . Resistance should be 3500-6500 ohms.
  2. Using ohmmeter, check resistance between terminals No. 2 and 4 while moving throttle from idle position to full throttle. Resistance should change smoothly in proportion to throttle opening. If resistance is not within specification or resistance does not change smoothly, replace throttle position sensor.
