CLOCKSPRING Test

  1. Gain access to clockspring connectors. Check clockspring connectors and protective tube for wear or damage. Using an ohmmeter, check for continuity between clock-spring connector No. 1, terminal No. 1 and connector No. 4, terminal No. 2. See Fig 1 .
  2. Check for continuity between clockspring connector No. 1, terminal No. 2 and connector No. 4, terminal No. 1. Check for continuity between clockspring connector No. 1, terminal No. 3 and connector No. 3. Continuity should exist in all tests. If continuity does not exist in any test, replace clockspring.
