Stall (Lock) Test

With starter mounted in test stand and ring gear locked, adjust test stand rheostat to values specified (see specifications ) and observe torque on dial indicator.

CRANKING SPECIFICATIONS

(1) At 10.3 volts.
(2) At 9.5 volts.

Brush Spring Tension  - E 84-0.8/12 - 2.5-2.9 lbs. (1.15-1.3 kg); E 100-1.3/12 - 2.2±.2 lbs. (1±0.1 kg).

Rotation (Pinion End)  - Clockwise.

Armature End Play  - E 84-0.8/12 -.0039-.0197" (0.1-0.5 mm); E 100-1.3/12 -.003-.027" (0.07-0.70 mm).
