Pump, Power Electronics Coolant: Installation: Installation

WARNING:

When performing any repairs that involve contact with high voltage components or systems, the technician performing repairs on the vehicle must verify that the system remains powered down during high voltage repairs.

  • This must be done by removing the service disconnect.
  • The high voltage check out procedure must also be performed to ensure that the vehicle is properly powered down.
  • The technician must know the whereabouts of the service disconnect throughout the repair.
  • The technician must ensure that no one reconnects the service disconnect while service is being performed.
  • The technician must recheck that the service disconnect has not been reinstalled in cases where the vehicle was unattended.

  1. Install the power electronics coolant pump (4), and the power electronics coolant pump bracket bolts (2).
  2. Connect the power electronics coolant pump electrical connector (3).
  3. Install a new coolant hose clamp on the power electronics coolant pump outlet hose (1), connect the hose, and tighten the clamp.
  4. Install a new coolant hose clamp on the power electronics coolant pump inlet hose (5), connect the hose, and tighten the clamp.
  5. Remove the hose-pinching pliers from the power electronics coolant pump inlet and outlet hoses.
  6. Position the cooling module back into the mounted position.

  7. Install the two cooling module lower mounting brackets (2), and the two cooling module lower mounting bracket bolts (1).

  8. Position the front bumper reinforcement, and install the two front bumper reinforcement nuts (2), and four front bumper reinforcement bolts (1).
  9. Install the front fascia. Refer to FASCIA, FRONT, INSTALLATION .
  10. Connect the negative 12-volt battery cable.
  11. Perform the LOSS OF ISOLATION CHECK. Refer to LOSS OF ISOLATION CHECK .
  12. Power up the high-voltage system. Refer to ELECTRIC VEHICLE CONTROL SYSTEM, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
