Module, Electronic Shifter (ESM): Operation
The ESM receives a command from the EVCU to operate the park pawl motor.
During key on, if all of the ePRNDL lights are illuminated, the park system has attempted to operate and has failed. Normally the park pawl motor will move to the parked position when the key is cycled to the OFF position and remained in the same position when powered up. The software is attempting to ensure the park motor is moving normally as well as it is attempting to determine if the nut on the motor shaft is stuck at either end of its travel. Failed operation will result in a fault being set.
