Pump, Water: Installation: 1.4L
- Clean the gasket mating surfaces.
- Apply a strip of silicone sealant to the contact surfaces between the water pump and the engine block.
- Position the water pump (1a) onto the engine block.
- Install the three mounting bolts (1b) and nut (1c). Tighten to 10 Nm (89 lbf-in).
- Install the inner timing belt cover (2). Tighten the bolt to 10 Nm (89 lbf-in).
- Rotate pump by hand to check for freedom of movement.
- Install the timing belt (1). Refer to BELT, TIMING, INSTALLATION .
- Evacuate air and fill the cooling system. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
