Ignition Switch & Lock Cylinders: Servicing

Chrysler Corp. and International Harvester Corp. vehicles with column mounted ignition switches and lock cylinders require that the steering wheel, steering column and turn signal switch be removed before ignition components are accessible.

On General Motors and Jeep Corp. vehicles, the steering column must be removed or lowered, and the steering wheel and turn signal switch removed before access to ignition components is obtained.

Ford Motor Co. vehicles and all models not having the ignition mounted on the steering column require no removal of steering components.
