Sensor Assembly: Replacement

  1. Remove instrument panel pad to gain access to sensor. On Mark V models, remove right instrument panel applique.
  2. Carefully disconnect air inlet elbow, vacuum connector and control cable. On Mark V models, control cable will have to be disconnected after the sensor is removed from mounting.
  3. Remove retaining screws and remove sensor. On Mark V models, bracket is removed with sensor.
  4. To install, rotate sensor control arm to position notch in arm at calibration pin (75° position). See Figure.
  5. Rotate plastic calibration locking pin so if engages notch in sensor control arm.
  6. Attach assembly to panel and reconnect air inlet tube elbow. Conned vacuum connector.
    NOTE: On Mark V models, control cable will have to be connected and adjusted before sensor is installed.
  7. Position temperature lever control cable with pigtail away from sensor assembly. Adjust control cable as previously outlined. Install instrument panel pad.
