Starting Circuit Test

Connect jumper wire between pins No. 1 and 8. See Figure and Figure. Check voltage between coil "BAT" (positive) terminal and engine ground. If reading is less than 6 volts, ignition by-pass circuit is open or grounded. Repair primary circuit as necessary.

NOTE: Do not ground coil terminal for more than 30 seconds on Dura-Spark I system while performing starting circuit test.
