Test Z - Key Power Test
- Turn ignition off and wait 10 seconds. Install breakout box with ECA connected. Set DVOM on 20 volt scale, connect leads to pins 5 and 60. Perform KEY ON-ENGINE RUNNING (KOER) SELF-TEST . If DVOM reading exceeds 17.5 volts during Self Test, repair charging system. If reading remains below 17.5 volts and code 65 is present, replace ECA and repeat Self Test. If DVOM remains below 17.5 volts and code 65 is not present, go to step 2).
- Perform KEY ON-ENGINE OFF (KOEO) SELF-TEST . If code 65 is not present, charging system is okay, test complete. If code 65 is present, check charging system.
