Ignition System - DURA-Spark II: Precautions
- The electronic control module and ignition coil are on whenever the ignition switch is in the "ON" or "START" position. The system will generate a spark whenever the ignition switch is turned "OFF".
- Since spark may occur if distributor is moved with ignition switch in the "ON" position, keep switch off during underhood operations.
- Always replace spark plug wires with wire made of the same material. Silicone/Silicone wire is identified by the letters "SS" on the wire in WHITE lettering. Silicone/EPDM wire is identified by the letters "SE" on the wire in BLACK lettering.
