MODIFY THE EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM

1. Install a vacuum retard delay valve (Part Number D7AZ-12A208-A, # 5, white/pink) in the vacuum hose connected to the air control side of the combination air bypass/air control valve using a 3" length of DOPZ-12226-B vacuum hose (5/32" ID). The pink side of the retard valve must be positioned toward the air control valve.

2. Reset the initial ignition timing from 10~ to 7~ BTDC.

3. Refer to Figure 1. With a "Sharpie" type felt tip pen, mark the Vehicle Emissions Control Information (VECI) decal to show that the vacuum retard delay valve was added and the initial ignition timing was changed to 7~ BTDC.

4. Refer to Exhibit 1. Prepare and attach an Authorized Modifications decal as shown.
