Ignition System - DURA-Spark II: Description

NOTE: Dura-Spark II system may be identified by ECM, which is mounted to inner fender. The FFI-IV system has ECM attached to the distributor outer housing.

Dura-Spark II solid-state ignition system consists of a distributor, Electronic Control Module (ECM), ignition coil, secondary wires and wiring harness. Secondary ignition components take advantage of higher energy produced in Dura-Spark II ignition system.

The Dura-Spark II system is identified by 2-wire and 4-wire module connectors. Depending on calibration, some models use Universal Ignition Module (UIM). This module has 3 connectors.
