Test 3 - Code 68

  1. Disconnect ISC-E processor connector. Adjust VOM to 200 ohm scale. Hold throttle in wide open position. Measure resistance between connector Pin 7 and connector Pin 24. Resistance should be less than 5 ohms. Depress ISC motor shaft and note reading. Resistance should exceed 5 ohms when ISC motor shaft is depressed. Proceed to step 3) if reading is correct. Proceed to next step if reading is incorrect.

  2. ITS Operation

    Disconnect ISC motor from harness. Adjust VOM to 200 ohm scale. Hold throttle in wide open position. Measure resistance at ISC motor connector (Yellow and Purple wires). Resistance should be less than 5 ohms. Resistance should become greater than 5 ohms when ISC motor shaft is depressed. Repair harness if reading is correct. Replace motor if reading is incorrect. Repeat test after repairs.

  3. Mechanical Idle Adjustment

    Perform idle speed adjustment. Perform test after idle speed adjustment. Replace ISC-E processor if code 68 appears. Repeat test after repairs. System is correct if code 11 appears.
