Vacuum Diagrams: Identification

To identify engine calibration number, locate engine code label at front of engine. There are several label styles; engine calibration number is shown on each. See Fig 1. Calibration codes usually begin with a number indicating current model year. For example, calibrations for 1988 usually begin with "8". Each vehicle is also equipped with an emission control data decal which applies to that vehicle and engine. See Fig 2. These decals are usually located on underside of hood or other visible engine compartment location.
