Fuel Computer/System Scanner Module Display Blank, But Back Lighted
- Place ignition switch in "RUN" position. If display is back lighted but blank, verify that speedometer/tachometer module is functioning. If okay, go to next step. If not, got to step 3).
- Remove instrument cluster. Connect negative battery cable and place ignition switch in "RUN" position. Check that voltage on pin "3A" and pin "14A" is equal to battery voltage (10 volts minimum). If okay, go to next step. If not, repair open in circuit.
- Check continuity between pin "10A" and battery ground cable. If okay, replace fuel computer module. If not, repair open in fuel module ground circuit (from cluster to ground).
- Place ignition switch in "RUN" position. Check fuel computer module/system scanner fuse. If okay, go back to step 2). If not, go to next step.
- Before replacing fuse, turn ignition off. Disconnect negative battery cable. Connect ohmmeter from circuit side of fuse to ground. If no short is found, replace fuse. If shorted, repair short in circuit.
