CONDITION & CAUSE

Some 1989-90 Bronco II vehicles may exhibit a driveline vibration or the appearance of grease along driveline. Condition may be caused by incorrect pinion to driveline angle. Rear CV joint boot may deteriorate and eventually cause failure of CV joint.

REPAIR

  1. Raise vehicle on hoist.
  2. Loosen rear U-bolts until shim spacer can be inserted between spring and spring seat.
  3. Insert 2 degree shim spacer (C3TZ-5A313-A) with thick end pointing to front of vehicle.
  4. Tighten U-bolt nuts to 65-75 ft. lbs. (88-102 N.m).
