Fuse Link

The fuse link is a short wire that is integral with the wire harness. It is smaller gauge than the circuit it protects and burns out when current flow exceeds circuit rating.

A burned-out fuse link will usually have bubbled insulation or in extreme cases, bare wire showing through the insulation. Use an ohmmeter to check fusible link continuity.
