Removal (5.0/5.8/7.5L)

  1. Remove fuel tank cap. Locate and disconnect electrical lead at fuel pump relay, inertia switch, or in-line high pressure fuel pump.
  2. Crank engine for 10 seconds. If engine starts, allow to idle until engine stalls. Crank engine an additional 5 seconds after engine stalls. Turn ignition off. Reconnect electrical lead that was disconnected in step 1). Disconnect negative battery cable.
  3. Remove vacuum hose from fuel pressure regulator. Remove Allen head screws from fuel pressure regulator housing. Remove fuel pressure regulator, gasket, and "O" ring.
