Throttle Pressure Testing
NOTE:
Throttle pressure test checks line pressure for hydraulic components and improper throttle cable adjustments.
- Connect tachometer to engine. Connect gauge and adapter to throttle inspection hole (square head plug "T"). See Figure .
- With engine idling at 725-775 RPM in Park, shift to Drive and read throttle pressure at idle. Firmly apply brake pedal. Steadily increase engine RPM to maximum speed and, within 5 seconds, read throttle pressure (when engine speed stabilizes). Release accelerator. DO NOT exceed 5-second limit.
- Check and record pressure. Repeat step 2) for each gear. Before shifting into each selector position, run engine in Neutral for one minute to cool transmission. If throttle pressure is within specification, go to ROAD TEST . See THROTTLE PRESSURE SPECIFICATIONS . If not within specification, go to THROTTLE PRESSURE TEST RESULTS .
