Drive Belt: Service and Repair

Mark direction of rotation on drive belt with a marking pen to ensure correct installation if the belt is to be reused. Failure to do so may result in belt noise.
1. Remove plastic belt shield from power steering pump.
2. Using a 1/2 inch drive breaker bar or equivalent inserted in idler pulley tensioner, release tension on drive belt.
3. While releasing belt tension, move drive belt off of tensioner pulley.
4. Release tensioner, then remove belt from engine.
5. Reverse procedure to install.
