Load Test

  1. Attach tachometer to engine. Start engine. Turn blower motor switch to high position and headlights to high beam. Increase engine speed to 2000 RPM.
  2. Voltmeter should indicate a minimum of .5 volt increase greater than battery voltage. If voltage reading is within specification, alternator operation is normal. If voltage increase is less than .5 volt more than battery voltage, proceed to REGULATOR "A" & "I" CIRCUIT TEST.
