Crankshaft Position Sensor: Service and Repair


Variable Reluctance (Crankshaft Position) Sensor:






REMOVAL:

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Disconnect the sensor electrical connector from the wiring harness.
3. Remove the Variable Reluctance (Crankshaft Position) Sensor mounting bolts and remove the sensor.


INSTALLATION:

1. Position the Variable Reluctance (Crankshaft Position) Sensor assembly on the engine.
2. Install the two sensor attaching bolts and tighten to specified torque. (SEE SPECIFICATIONS/MECHANICAL)
3. Route the sensor wiring harness and connect the electrical connector to the sensor.
4. Connect the negative battery cable.
