Start-Up Procedure

NOTE: Follow START-UP PROCEDURE after removal of rack and pinion assembly or power steering pump to eliminate excessive steering system noise due to air trapped in system.
  1. Disconnect coil wire. Fill pump reservoir to specified level. Crank engine and observe fluid level. Add fluid until level remains constant. With wheels off floor, rotate steering wheel from lock-to-lock while cranking engine. Check fluid and fill as necessary.
  2. Reconnect coil wire. Start engine and run for several minutes. Rotate steering wheel from far left to far right several times. Turn off engine and check fluid level.
