Control Module

System temperature control is accomplished by a control module containing a microprocessor. Control module is mounted on top of control assembly. See Fig 1 .

Inputs to control module include in-car temperature sensor, ambient temperature sensor, control panel blower switch and temperature and function lever settings. These inputs are used to determine blend door position (through DC actuator motor) and variable blower speed. When vacuum selector valve is in FLOOR position, blower operation is controlled by thermal blower lock-out switch.

NOTE: Control module is grounded behind right trim panel on Crown Victoria and Grand Marquis. On Town Car, control module is grounded behind left kick panel.
