Single Switch

With switch removed from vehicle, test with a self-powered test light or ohmmeter. With switch in NEUTRAL position, continuity should exist between terminals No. 1 and 3, 2 and 5, and 4 and 6. See Fig 2 .
Push switch downward. Continuity should exist between terminals No. 2, 4 and 5, and 1 and 3. Terminal No. 6 should not have continuity with any other terminal.
Push switch upward. Continuity should exist between terminals No. 2, 3 and 5, and 4 and 6. Terminal No. 1 should not have continuity with any other terminal. If switch does not test as described, replace switch.
