The two main components of the Remote Convenience System are the Remote Convenience Module with Integral Receiver and the hand-held transmitter. See Fig 1 . This system allows the driver to perform the following functions; lock or unlock driver's or all doors, lock sliding door, activate or deactivate the Anti-Theft System, turn on interior lamps by lifting either front door handle or by using the remote transmitter.
The electronic remote entry module performs the following functions:
- Unlocking driver's door
- Unlocking all doors
- Sliding door memory lock
- Locking all doors
- Arming and disarming the factory-installed FORD Anti-Theft system
- Turning on interior lamps after either front door handle is lifted
- Turning on interior lamps when using the transmitter(s)
- Activating and deactivating a Personal Security feature which sounds the horn and flashes the exterior parking lamps and headlamps.
