Removal & Installation (4.9L)

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Release fuel pressure. See FUEL PRESSURE RELEASE  under FUEL SYSTEM (GASOLINE). Remove upper intake manifold assembly. See UPPER INTAKE MANIFOLD & THROTTLE BODY - 4.9L  under FUEL SYSTEM (GASOLINE). Disconnect fuel supply and fuel return lines. See PUSH-CONNECT FITTINGS  under FUEL SYSTEM (GASOLINE).
  2. Disconnect vacuum hose from fuel pressure regulator. Remove strap surrounding fuel supply manifold, injector electrical harness, and main vacuum harness.
  3. Remove fuel supply manifold retaining studs. Carefully disengage fuel supply manifold from fuel injectors, and remove manifold. To install, reverse removal procedure. Ensure injectors are well seated in manifold assembly.
