Steering Angle Sensor Check

  1. Disconnect steering angle sensor connector. Place steering wheel in straight-ahead position. Set VOM on 200-k/ohm scale. Measure resistance between Green and Green/White wires. Resistance reading should be zero to 15 k/ohms.
  2. Turn steering wheel slowly from straight-ahead position to 180 degrees left. Resistance should decrease to zero, change to 45 k/ohms, and decrease from this value. If resistance is within specification, proceed to PINPOINT TEST B5. If resistance is not as specified, replace steering angle sensor.
