Checking System Integrity

Install 4EAT Tester (007-00037), and leave 4EAT module (ECA on 2.2L non-turbo) disconnected. Connect test light between STI test pin and positive battery terminal. See STI CIRCUIT PIN IDENTIFICATION  table. Connect STI terminal to ground. With STI terminal grounded, light should glow. With STI diagnostic connector not grounded, light should be off. If STI tests as specified, go to CIRCUIT TEST STO  . If STI does not test as specified, repair STI circuit and repeat test.
