Hazard Warning Switch Test
- Ensure HAZARD fuse is okay. Replace if necessary. If fuse blows, repair short in Brown wire to flasher unit. If fuse is okay, go to next step.
- Remove flasher unit, located at relay module at left side of dash. Check for battery voltage at Brown wire at flasher unit connector. If battery voltage exists, go to step 3). If battery voltage does not exist, repair Brown wire from fuse panel.
- Measure resistance between Black wire at flasher unit and ground. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to step 4). If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair Black wire to ground.
- Ground Green/Red wire at flasher unit. If hazard lights do not flash, go to step 5). If hazard lights flash, go to step 6).
- Disconnect flasher unit. Measure resistance of Green/Red wire between flasher unit and hazard switch. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace flasher unit. If resistance is at least 5 ohms, repair Green/Red wire.
- Engage flasher switch. Ground Black wire at hazard switch. If hazard lights flash, repair Black wire to ground. If hazard lights do not flash, replace flasher unit.
