Quick Test

  1. Lock and unlock each door several times from each individual switch. If doors lock and unlock properly, go to next step. If doors do not lock and unlock properly, go to PINPOINT TEST F  .
  2. Press each button on the keyless entry keypad. Check that the keypad lights up, Wait about 5 seconds before pressing the next button. If keypads light come on, go to next step. If no keypads lights come on, go to PINPOINT TEST C  .If one or more of the buttons fail to light, go to PINPOINT TEST D  .
  3. Remove key from ignition switch. Close all doors and trunk. Ensure all doors are unlock. Simultaneously press button 7/8 and 9/0. If all doors lock, go to next step. If some doors fail to lock, replace module. If no doors lock, go to PINPOINT TEST D  .
  4. Enter the permanent code by pressing the buttons on the keypad in the proper sequence. Use the code sequence that appears on the module. If driver's door unlocks, go to next step. If driver's door fails to unlock, go to PINPOINT TEST D  .
  5. Enter the permanent code, if more than 5 seconds have elapsed since last step (if the light on the keypad has gone out). Press button 3/4 on the keypad, within 5 seconds of entering the permanent code. If Passenger's door(s) unlock, go to next step. If passenger's door(s) fails to unlock, repeat QUICK TEST. If still not okay, go to PINPOINT TEST D  .
  6. Enter the permanent code, if more than 5 seconds have elapsed since last step (if the light on the keypad has gone out). Press button 5/6 on the keypad, within 5 seconds of entering the permanent code. If trunk unlocks, go to next step. if trunk does not unlock, go to PINPOINT TEST G  . If trunk is always open or unlocked, go to PINPOINT TEST F  , step  5 .
  7. Sit in driver's seat. Shift transmission to PARK. Close driver's door. With all doors unlocked, fully closed and interior lights off, turn ignition on. Shift transmission to REVERSE then DRIVE. If doors lock, go to next step. If doors do not lock, go to PINPOINT TEST B  .
  8. While sitting in driver's seat, transmission still in DRIVE and ignition on, open driver's door. Close driver's door. If door locks, go to next step. If door does not lock, go to PINPOINT TEST B  .
  9. While sitting in driver's seat, transmission still in DRIVE and ignition on, open driver's door. Turn off interior lights by depressing courtesy light switch with left foot. If driver's door does not lock automatically, go to next step. If driver's door automatically locks when interior lights turn off, go to PINPOINT TEST B  , step  15 .
  10. Turn ignition off. Shift transmission into PARK. Get out of vehicle and close door. Press any of the keypad buttons. If interior lights and illuminated entry keyhole lights of both doors come on, go to next step. If Interior lights or illuminated entry keyhole lights do not come on, go to PINPOINT TEST E  .
  11. If the interior lights have gone off, if more than 25 seconds since step  9 press the keypad to turn on the interior lights and illuminated entry keyhole lights. Press Buttons 7/8 and 9/0 simultaneously (this should be done within 5 seconds of turning on the Illuminated Entry system). If interior lights and illuminated entry keyhole light(s) go off, go to next step. If interior lights or keyhole lights stay on, go to PINPOINT TEST E  .
  12. Turn ignition off. Shift transmission into PARK. Close door. Lift front door handle to open door. Within 25 seconds, get inside vehicle and turn ignition ON. If interior lights come on when door handle is lifted and go off when ignition is turned on, go to next step. If interior lights come on when door handle is lifted and do not go off when ignition is turned on, replace control moduleand repeat QUICK TEST. If interior lights do not come on, go to PINPOINT TEST E  .
  13. Enter entry code. Within 5 seconds, press keypad button 1/2. This prepares system to accept alternate code. Press buttons 9/0, 7/8, 5/6, 3/4 and 1/2 in sequence. If keypad lights go out, go to next step. If keypad lights stay on, replace module and repeat QUICK TEST  .
  14. Close and lock doors. Press buttons 9/0, 7/8, 5/6, 3/4 and 1/2 in sequence. If driver's door unlocks, go to next step. If driver's door does not open, repeat steps 12 and 13. If still not okay, replace module and repeat QUICK TEST  .
  15. Starting with the keypad light out, enter entry code. Within 5 seconds, press button 1/2. When keypad light goes out, close and lock driver's door. This will remove alternate code. Press buttons 9/0, 7/8, 5/6, 3/4 and 1/2 in sequence. If doors remain locked, system is okay. If some doors unlock, replace module and repeat QUICK TEST  .
