Retrieving Codes: Notes

Retrieve codes from EEC system through Data Link Connector (DLC) using following self-test procedures: Key On Engine Off (KOEO) and Key On Engine Running (KOER). See QUICK TEST. If no code or only intermittent fault is found after performing KOEO and KOER self-tests, proceed to SWITCH MONITOR TEST.

NOTE: Before hooking up equipment to diagnose EEC system, prepare and visually inspect vehicle. See VISUAL CHECK & VEHICLE PREPARATION below.
