Knock Sensor: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

1. Disconnect negative battery ground.

2. Remove the intake manifold assembly.

3. Remove the cooling system bypass and water pipes.

4. Disconnect Knock Sensor (KS) electrical connector.

5. Remove sensor from block.

INSTALLATION

1. Install sensor into block. Torque to 20-34 Nm (15-25 lb ft).

2. Connect the electrical sensor connector.

3. Install the cooling system bypass and water pipes.

4. Install the intake manifold assembly.

5. Refill the cooling system and check for leaks.
