Pinpoint Test D - Fail-Safe Relay

  1. Inspect all wiring, brakelines, and other ABS components for visible physical deterioration or damage. If all is okay, go to next step. Make any necessary repairs.
  2. Inspect ABS fuse in main fuse junction panel. Inspect METER fuse in interior fuse panel. If fuses are okay, go to next step. Replace fuses as necessary.
  3. Turn ignition off. Unplug ABS control module. Turn ignition on. Temporarily ground Black/Blue wire at harness connector. If relay clicks, go to next step. If relay does not click, inspect Black/Blue wire for open between anti-lock relay and ABS control module. Repair wire if necessary. If wire is okay, go to step 6).
  4. Turn ignition on. Temporarily ground Black/Blue wire at harness connector. Observe ANTI-LOCK warning light. If light is not on, go to next step. If light is on, go to step 6).
  5. Turn ignition on. Temporarily ground Black/Blue wire at harness connector. Measure voltage on Yellow/White wire at harness connector. If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step. If battery voltage exists and you were not directed here from PINPOINT TEST E, go to PINPOINT TEST G  . Return to PINPOINT TEST E  if directed here from there.
  6. Go to ANTI-LOCK RELAY  under DIAGNOSIS. If anti-lock relay is okay, repair Yellow/White wire between anti-lock relay and ABS control module. Replace relay if defective.
