Instrument Panel: Testing: Tachometer

  1. Check tachometer fuse. Ensure wiring connections in engine compartment and at rear of instrument cluster are secure. Ensure battery voltage exists at tachometer terminal of instrument cluster connector when ignition switch is on. See wiring diagram under WIRING DIAGRAM.
  2. Check that resistance of ground circuit is one ohm or less. Check that resistance is one ohm or less in wiring to ignition coil or ignition module. If wiring is okay, replace tachometer.
