Test Equipment

Following test equipment is necessary to complete ICM ignition system tests.
- EI (Low Data Rate) Diagnostic Cable (007-00044)
- Spark Tester (D81P-6666-A & D89P-6666-A)
- Digital Volt-Ohmmeter (DVOM)
- Remote Starter Switch
- 2 EEC-IV Breakout Boxes (T83L-50-EEC-IV)
- EEC-IV Breakout Box 2.3L Overlay
- ICM Adapter Tachometer (007-00061)
- Inductive Type Timing Light (DO NOT use advance knob, if equipped, as it will not work correctly with EI ignition systems.)
- 12-Volt Test Light (Incandescent Type)
- Test Light (LED Type) Or Logic Probe (LED Type)
- ICM Tester (007-00071)
- ICM Coil/Sensor Tester (007-00072)
NOTE:
A 12-volt incandescent test light should not be used to test CID, IDM, PIP or SPOUT circuit signals. It will load circuit and may cause incorrect measurements or faulty ICM/PCM operation.
