Pinpoint Test D - Improper Up/Down Lift Operation
- Up/Down Operation Check - Unplug power seat motor connector. Connect a jumper wire to battery voltage and connect another jumper wire to ground. Connect positive jumper wire to pin No. 3 at motor connector. See Figure . See POWER SEAT MOTOR CONNECTOR PIN IDENTIFICATION table. Momentarily connect ground jumper wire to pin No. 4. Seat should move upward. Reverse jumper wires. Seat should move downward. If seat operates correctly, leave jumper wires connected to battery voltage and ground. Go to next step. If seat does not operate properly, replace motor assembly and retest system.
- Up/Down Circuit Check - Reconnect power seat motor connector. Remove power seat switch from seat side trim panel. Unplug harness connector. Connect a jumper wire to battery voltage and connect another jumper wire to ground. Connect positive jumper wire to pin No. 6 at switch connector. See Figure . See POWER SEAT SWITCH CIRCUIT FUNCTION table. Momentarily connect ground jumper wire to pin No. 4 at switch connector. Observe seat operation. Reverse jumper wires. If moves opposite direction, power sear lift circuits are okay. If power seat does not operate properly, repair suspect wire(s) and retest system.
