Pinpoint Test C - Wheel Sensor Continuity

  1. DTC 31 Disconnect 16-pin connector on jumper from HCU assembly to chassis harness connector. See COMPONENT LOCATIONS  . Measure resistance between HCU assembly 16-pin chassis harness connector terminals No. 1 and 13. See Figure . If resistance is 1015-1245 ohms, go to step 3). If resistance is not 1015-1245 ohms, go to next step.
  2. Disconnect right front wheel sensor harness connector. Measure resistance between wheel sensor connector terminals. If resistance is 1015-1245 ohms, repair circuit No. 514 (Yellow/Red wire) or No. 516 (Yellow/Black wire) between wheel sensor and HCU 16-pin harness connector. If resistance is not 1015-1245 ohms, replace right front wheel sensor. Ensure all components are properly reconnected and repeat PINPOINT TEST A  .
  3. Remove cover from HCU. Disconnect jumper harness from ABS ECU. Check for broken or damaged wire in jumper harness. If wires are okay and ANTI-LOCK warning light is constantly on, replace ABS ECU. If wires are not okay, replace broken or damaged wire in jumper harness. Ensure all components are properly reconnected and repeat PINPOINT TEST A  .
  4. DTC 32 Disconnect 16-pin connector on jumper from HCU assembly to chassis harness connector. See COMPONENT LOCATIONS  . Measure resistance between HCU assembly 16-pin chassis harness connector terminals No. 5 and 9. See Figure . If resistance is 2187-2673 ohms, go to step 6). If resistance is not 2187-2673 ohms, go to next step.
  5. Disconnect right rear wheel sensor harness connector. Measure resistance between wheel sensor connector terminals. If resistance is 2187-2673 ohms, repair circuit No. 492 (Brown wire) or No. 494 (Tan/Light Green wire) between wheel sensor and HCU 16-pin harness connector. If resistance is not 2187-2673 ohms, replace right rear wheel sensor. Ensure all components are properly reconnected and repeat PINPOINT TEST A  .
  7. DTC 33 Disconnect 16-pin connector on jumper from HCU assembly to chassis harness connector. See COMPONENT LOCATIONS  . Measure resistance between HCU assembly 16-pin chassis harness connector terminals No. 3 and 7. See Figure . If resistance is 1015-1245 ohms, go to step 9). If resistance is not 1015-1245 ohms, go to next step.
  8. Disconnect left front wheel sensor harness connector. Measure resistance between wheel sensor connector terminals. If resistance is 1015-1245 ohms, repair circuit No. 521 (Tan/Orange wire) or No. 522 (Tan/Black wire) between wheel sensor and HCU 16-pin harness connector. If resistance is not 1015-1245 ohms, replace left front wheel sensor. Ensure all components are properly reconnected and repeat PINPOINT TEST A  .
  10. DTC 34 Disconnect 16-pin connector on jumper from HCU assembly to chassis harness connector. See COMPONENT LOCATIONS  . Measure resistance between HCU assembly 16-pin chassis harness connector terminals No. 1 and 6. See Figure . If resistance is 2187-2673 ohms, go to step 12). If resistance is not 2187-2673 ohms, go to next step.
  11. Disconnect left rear wheel sensor harness connector. Measure resistance between wheel sensor connector terminals. If resistance is 2187-2673 ohms, repair circuit No. 496 (Orange wire) or No. 499 (Gray/Black wire) between wheel sensor and HCU 16-pin harness connector. If resistance is not 2187-2673 ohms, replace left rear wheel sensor. Ensure all components are properly reconnected and repeat PINPOINT TEST A  .
