Intermittent Failures

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.

Intermittent failures may cause Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) to flicker or glow. Light will go out after intermittent fault goes away. These faults indicate that a defect may or may not be present at time of testing, however corresponding trouble code will be retained in PCM memory.

If related fault does not reoccur within a certain time frame, trouble code will be erased from PCM memory. Intermittent failures may be caused by a sensor, connector or wiring problems. See INTERMITTENTS in TESTS W/O CODES - EEC 2.5L article in the ENGINE PERFORMANCE section.
