A/C System Performance

  1. Park vehicle out of direct sunlight. Connect manifold gauge set. Start and run engine at 1500 RPM. Set A/C controls to recirculate air, panel (vent) mode, full cold, and function control switch to MAX A/C.
  2. Set blower/fan on high speed and close doors and windows. Insert thermometer in center vent. Operate system for 10-15 minutes to allow system to stabilize. Measure temperature.
  3. Temperature must be 33-47°F (.6-8°C) at center vent, with high side and low side pressures within specification. See A/C SYSTEM HIGH SIDE PRESSURE SPECIFICATIONS  table. Low side pressure remains constant at 25-45 psi (1.8-3.2 kg/cm2 ) throughout normal operating range.
