Throttle Position Sensor: Adjustments

1. Connect Rotunda Breakout Box 014-00322 or equivalent to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM), using Breakout Box Adapter T92C-6000-AH.
2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
3. Using Rotunda 73 Digital Multimeter 105-R0051 or equivalent, measure the voltage between breakout box pin 47 and ground.
4. Rotate the throttle linkage by hand and observe the voltage readings.
- With the throttle valve fully closed, the voltage must measure 0.1-1.1 volts.
- With the throttle valve fully open, the voltage must measure 3.1-4.4 volts.
5. If the voltage is not within specifications, adjust the Throttle Position (TP) sensor as follows:
a. Loosen the TP sensor set screws.
b. With the throttle valve fully closed, rotate the TP sensor until the voltage is 0.1-1.1 volts.
c. With the throttle valve fully open, verify that the voltage is 3.1-4.4 volts.
d. Tighten the TP sensor set screws to 2 Nm (18 lb in).
